Abuja has a small, but growing art scene. We worked with CAVIC Nigeria, an art hub and gallery space based in Abuja to create an experiential event for their new location opening.

In celebration of the different artistic practices We worked together with the hub and its related artists to create an event that highlighted the arts and culture of Nigeria by combining projection maps, music, poetry, painting and dance.

The event was structured around 6 new paintings in CAVIC’s collection, with their narrative of the girl child and woman hood used to fuel the rest of the performance and experience.

As a way to celebrate the space, we designed the performances to be held on the gallery floor, rather than a stage, and to interact with the audience, bringing them in and out of the story and dance.
